To fight successfully against a pandemic

To fight successfully against a pandemic, we need:

resource-based approaches,

results-based decisions,

objective risk analysis and management,

robust and independent research,

sound theory,

continuously challenged hypotheses,
evidence-based medicine,

preemptive action plan,

complex politico-economic operations,

hybrid social organizations,

historical knowledge of contagious diseases,

multiple therapeutic choices,

free flow of information,

feedback loops,

educated public.

Few if any of these elements exist today. However, salvation will come from reality checks. Probably there is no pandemic. Just an overreaction to a seasonal flu-like disease, complicated and amplified by vested interests.
